Nostalgia: Nintendo "Game and Watch" series
We've all seen them, we've all gotten them in our christmas stockings.
Game & Watch is the name of a series of 59 - officials - handheld games made by Nintendo from 1980-1991. The name is Game & Watch, because each Game & Watch includes a game and a clock.
Game & Watch are a kind of watches who also can be played, when you're bored. Most of the Game & Watch fit in a pocket, that's why they're also called pocket games. The inventor of the Game & Watch games was Gunpei Yokoi. His idea was to create a game, which can be played everywhere: on the toilet, in school or anywhere else. There are 10 different kinds of Game & Watch: Silver, Gold, Widescreen, Multiscreen, Tabletop, Panorama Screen, New Widescreen, Supercolor, Micro VS System and Crystal Screen. There are also different versions of games and boxes. And all the Game & Watch have different rarities. That's why they're so very collectible. Because the Game & Watch games were so funny to play (they're still), they became worldfamous. Maybe also, because the Game & Watch games were one of first handheld / pocket games. Without the Game & Watch games, videogaming would never be so popular. Nintendo has in no way abandoned their classic LCD Game & Watch series these days. Alongside their GameBoy "Game & Watch Gallery" series which contains original and updated versions of their classics (as well as a ton of information on the Game & Watches), an inexpensive series of Game & Watch remakes have been released as well. The real "gaming-age" began with Nintendo and Game & Watch.
